Friday Poem

In preparation for a family poetry workshop, I have been reading a lot of children's poetry and poetry written by kids. In the simplicity of their words, I am reminded of the essence of poetry and that we are all poets.

Chasing the Light

If I were a moth
I'd fly to the light
that I see within you.
It's the only light
I know that
will never singe
my delicate wings.
