My room with a view for a week |
It's amazing what a little relaxation can do. After a week long staycation with my family at a cabin on Lake Superior, I am feeling inspired. Days on the beach soaking in the sand and sun reading books, poems, short stories and creating some of my own helped me get motivated again.
I entered a couple poetry contests and even sent out a picture book manuscript that's been sitting around for some time. I can do this and so can you. Here's to happy writing, revising, and submitting.
What a gorgeous place for a staycation! I need a little motivation amplification. Hopefully the family vacation at the end of the week will get me there :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your projects and your submissions!
Here's hoping that the family vacation helps you RELAX!
DeleteMy vacation a few weeks ago had the opposite impact on my writing. Coming home to 2 weeks worth of dirty laundry (& a broken washer) & much around-the-house stuff to catch up on left me almost "wordless." I wrote a word here & a paragraph there. But last night, I got serious. I'm back. I'm motivated. I think your post (& the new washer which arrives today) will help keep me there. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that you can find some motivation! I just finished the last load of the staycation laundry :)
DeleteI'm on a staycation this week and intend to gets lots of writing, both fiction and non-fiction, done. Also while basking in the sun.
ReplyDeleteBTW--I used to live in Michigan and my family vacationed at one or the other of the Great Lakes most summers as I was growing up.
