For the A-Z challenge, we decided to post a new and original poem every day. Today Regina's love comes in a gift made of plastic for the letter "P".
Plastic Love
Empty plastic juice jug
turned upside down with
sticks made into perches,
full of black sunflower seeds
made by you in the light
of missing me.
My own personal
cardinal show in a bottle.
But with no low pine branches
outside my window
isn't an option.
So I set it on the sill, inside
and pretend they come to eat
fluttering in the light
of missing you.
Sad one today :( Probably because you were missing me, right?
ReplyDeleteI always miss you!
DeleteI can't get over you - either of you. So much talent at this blog.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with Ann. Amazed at how talented you both are.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
DeleteYou two make me wish I could write poetry. This one is beautiful and melancholic. Love the last stanza.
ReplyDeleteI have a hard time believing you don't have a poem in you!
DeleteBeautiful, loving poem. Not plastic at all!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Beth!
DeleteThis is such a sweet little vignette! And so unexpected from what the title implies.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kate!
DeleteMissing someone is tough. I miss the two of you every day.
ReplyDeleteWe miss you too! You are a part of us :)
