Friday Original Poem

Seizure

It’s not like you would think
All drooling mouth and vibration
Instead, a dream starts while I am awake
And I lean over the side of a bridge
Tip forward
And plunge from some ungodly height
Though if there is a god, she’s in there somewhere
Because there is pleasure in that moment of pure concentration
Of breath and pause
And crystal-pierced understanding
Then it ends
Like waves, sluggish and undulating
I’m nauseous and full of grief
Because I can’t remember anything except the beginning
Of the dream
And it seemed important
