Two years ago, my husband came home from work with a new word. He is a high school English teacher and regularly comes home complaining about how exhausting it can be to get kids invested in story, in literature and writing. But on this day, he had found something of value himself. It was buried in a Shakespearean play. The joyful nugget he presented to me, and has used ever since, was the word fadge. Yup. Fadge.
What does that mean?
It means to figure something out, to outsmart a puzzle or best a situation.
Fadge.
So today is fadge day. We are off to a local coffee shop to talk about bills, the kids' schedules, our goals and mostly about whether or not we can really afford, both emotionally and financially, to adopt three children.
Fadge.
Wish us luck. Today, we will need it.
