Friday Original Poem

A few weeks ago my husband and I shared our fifteenth wedding anniversary.  We celebrated with a night in Michigan enjoying the pretty wooded lanes, delicious local restaurants (seriously, Michigan knows how to bake a pie!) and toured a few local wineries.  It was a beautiful twenty-four hours and it inspired a story that we started outlining together.  This week, I began to write a new novel based on the structure we created together.  Even as I write this entry, I am eager to get back to it!

Peaches and Red Wine in Michigan

New words
Tickling the back of my tongue
A story brews its way, thick with chocolate scent
Onto a cream white page
Pouring forth
Red harvest, heavy with juice
Peach colored slobbery bites that I will clean up later
Drenched in syrupy, seeded jam
A summer indulgence

  5. Congrats on the anniversary! The poem makes a great celebration for both the anniversary and your new writing piece. Thank goodness I don't have a sweet tooth right now. Writer’s Mark
